Meet Miss Alice

~ Her Story ~

Inspiration~

When Miss Alice was 5 she cried the moment she saw her best friend dancing on stage and realized she wasn't there, too. Thank goodness her mother enrolled her in ballet class shortly after...

Around the World~

Since then, Miss Alice's dance shoes have taken her from Australia to Vancouver, San Francisco and most recently to Los Angeles. She has danced in commercial productions for stage and television - her personal favorite: dancing with Kylie Minogue! Her extensive dance training started in Sydney and later in Melbourne where she was inspired by the magic of teaching children dance. So, Miss Alice earned a Bachelors degree in Education from The University of Melbourne. Combining her passions for dance and education, she started to design dance programs for children and created an early-learning arts curriculum that is still loved in Preschools in Melbourne to this day!

Discovering Enchantment~

In San Francisco, Miss Alice discovered two new loves: music and yoga. She studied guitar and song-writing and became a certified yoga teacher. She then developed her princess ballerina character, having a strong vision to connect children with traditional early learning concepts, while challenging the way princesses are currently defined. Miss Alice is beyond happy to be sharing her love of all things performing arts, yoga and education with children and communities of Los Angeles.

~Her Character~

Miss Alice says: "Wearing a crown will turn your frown upside down!"

Miss Alice says: "Wearing a crown will turn your frown upside down!"

Miss Alice is the alter ego of Alice FitzGerald, licensed educator, professional dancer, and children's songwriter. Her costumed character is a Princess Ballerina, a character representing the power of the Feminine available to girls (and boys!) of all ages. Miss Alice is no fragile monarch pining for a prince in her ivory tower — she’s an empowered woman who loves exploring, creating, and relating, in addition to sweet and sparkly things! Miss Alice encourages self-expression using kinesthetic, auditory and visual awareness through direct instruction, imaginative play, and of course, the arts. Australian-born and US-based, she’s been working with kids for over 10 years, refining her approaches to provide a magic-packed journey of discovery into the worlds of sound and movement, shape and size, color and number - all with the wonder that inspires curious learners!

With this magical sense of wonder, she effortlessly engages children’s curiosities and inspires them to be thoughtful, kind, patient, gentle, fair and strong.
